Static Web Sites
Static sites are the most basic type of web site that we develop. They are used to promote a business's activities on the Internet and are an ideal way to enhance an existing advertising campaign.
Most static sites comprise of a home page, about us page, a page detailing the services provided and a contact page. Additional pages can be added to provide a more detailed breakdown of the information on the services or about us pages.
Static sites have no facility for the site owner to update the content without knowledge of web design and HTML - updates are normally preformed by myself at extra cost.
Static sites developed by myself feature ...
- Full standards compliance (as set by the W3C)
- Search Engine Optimisation
- Search Engine Submission
- Full graphic design
- 12 months free internet hosting (through Streamline.net)
- Accessibility based, easy-to-use design
Prices for static web sites start at £299 - please Contact Us for more information.
Content Management Web Sites
These are sites with an integrated content management system, allowing for dynamic content to be displayed.
What does this mean? Well, a CMS (Content Management System) allows the site's owner/administrator to log in and alter the content. A web based database is set up to store some of the content for the web site. When the site is viewed, content is extracted in real time from this database. The administration section of the site allows for the easy updating of the information contained in the database.
There are two levels of CSM offered by us ...
The basic level adds limited dynamic functionality to a static site. Useful for smaller businesses that need to update one or two pages on their site - maybe to add/edit a news section or to run a section showing employment opportunities within the business.
The advanced level allows for much more functionality to be added to a site. Useful for businesses where there is a big potential for change on their site. An estate agency web site is a good example of an advanced CMS site.
CMS based web sites sites developed by us feature ...
- Everything offered for static sites (see list above)
- A secure, easy to use administration system
- A MySQL or Microsoft SQL web based database
Prices for CMS web sites start at £799 - please Contact Us for more information.
E Commerce
E Commerce web sites allow users to purchase goods or services online. A typical E Commerce solution developed by us will comprise of 3 separate sections, all brought together in one accessible, effective package.
The first is the shop front (or online catalogue). This is the section of the site where visitors will be able to browse or search the services or goods on sale. It will include powerful search facilities and clear navigation. The home page of an E Commerce solution is typically included in this section.
The second section is the payment processing facility. This part of your site will provide a secure and easy way for customers to pay for the goods or services they require. This can be done in a number of ways ...
The simplest option is for shops that already have a remote payment processing facility. The order details and customer details are recorded on the web site for processing later. This option is the least expensive.
A step up from this method is by using a payment processing solution from Paypal. Potential customers shop on the site, get re-directed to paypal to pay before being re-directed back to the site upon completion. Paypal take a small commission on each transaction but there is no set up fee or standing charge.
The most complex option is to use a payment processing company and a payment gateway. This method means your site takes orders and processes pavement without your customers having to leave the site. There is a lower fee per transaction than by using the simple Paypal method but there is normally a small set up fee and a standing charge.
The final part of an E Commerce solution is the administration system. This is a secure, password-protected part of the site allowing the site owner/administrator to run the online shop. From here, everything from stock, special offers, and site performance to orders can be managed. This is a very important part of the site and is built to a client's specific requirements.

- Everything offered for static sites and content management sites(see lists above)
- A fully integrated payment processing system
- A secure, accessible administration system
